15th December - Letter from Bob Young

Dear DCAS Committee and Archers,

Thank you all very much for the Thanks Card and Gift presented to me at the recent AGM.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend personally but they were passed safely onto me via Sally and Jimmy.
I hope that the card was thanking me for the work that I had done rather than actually not standing for the position again!!!!

The job has been an interesting one and shows that records will continue to improve as the years go by.
My thanks to all who have been patient with the sometimes long wait to be recognised for your achievements.

Thanks also to Tim Pratt, as it was him who had set up the present method and databases which made life easy for me in the early stages of the job.

I now pass the job over to Jane Forrow whose details can be found on the new Records Claim Form in the Records section of this site.

With Best Regards and good luck to you all for the coming year.

Bob Young

4th May 2011 - Coventry Silvercraft

Coventry Silvercraft are the suppliers of our DCAS medals.  We would like to thank them for their continued work.  If you would like to use them for your own club medals, please see their flyer.

27th March 2011 - Break in at Brixham Archers

There was a break-in at Brixham Archers during the night 24/25th March 2011.

Although we haven't conducted a full inventory check as yet, it would appear that some considerable amount of equipment is missing. We do have ID nos. for most items.

After a quick check these are some of the missing items:

11 X Winstar II recurve bow sets complete with sights, buttons etc. Each in it's own grey numbered bow bag.

2 X Mission Menace compound bows (1 RH 1 & 1 LH) complete with rests, peep etc.

1 X older model Hoyt Compound bow

Metal detector

Selection of arrows.

Etc. Etc.

Can I ask everyone to watch and listen out for items for sale on auction sites / car boot sales etc. and ask you to report suspicious sales to Brixham Archers.

Thank you

~Malcolm~
